Private music lessons for middle and high school Clarinet Students, in the McKinney, Texas area.

Studio locations

I maintain a studio in far North Dallas, near Preston Road at Frankford.
Throughout the year, including summer months, private lessons are taught out of my home studio on weekends.
When school is in session, lessons are taught out of various middle and high schools in the McKinney Texas ISD.

Format

All lessons are once per week. Beginning students receive 22-30 minute lessons. Advanced students can have 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons.
We cover practice habits, performance technique, embouchure development, tone, tuning, musicianship, and basic music theory.
Students participate in occassional studio recitals, and various school sponsored contests throughout the school year.

Private lessons are a separate course of instruction from the student's band classes.
This is not tutoring - it is a separate (private) class.
Students receive playing assignments and written theory homework each week.
Payments are made directory to the instructor, and not to the school or band program.

Students are expected to practice daily on their private lesson assignmets, in addition to any time spent practicing band literature.

MISD Students

McKinney ISD students have 3 options:
    1) Have a lesson during the day, during the student's regular band class.
        Once a week, the student reports to the instructor in a practice room for a private lesson, then returns to band after the lesson.
         During the day lessons (during band class) range from 22 to 30 minutes long, depending on the schedule at the student's school.
    2) Have a lesson before or after school, in one of the band hall practice rooms (30 minutes).
    3) McKinney students may optionally travel to my home studio on Sundays (30, 45, or 60 minutes long)
